On your arrival at the Srinagar airport/railway station, meet a Our representative who will assist you to board the designated vehicle. Proceed to the hotel, complete all the check-in formalities and thereafter, relax for some time. Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and the largest city of the state. Located in the Kashmir Valley, the capital is popular for its pristine lakes and alluring houseboats floating on them. A jewel of a destination, Srinagar offers many delights for tourists, such as placid lakes, meandering rivers, blooming Mughal gardens, romantic shikara rides and graceful architecture. It is also known for exquisite Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits. With its charismatic beauty and romantic ambience, Srinagar is rightly called the 'Pride of the Kashmir Valley'. In the afternoon, admire the tranquil environs of Kashmir while enjoying a 2-hour shikara ride on the beautiful Dal Lake – Srinagar’s symbolic feature. Later, visit the local crafts market to see intricately carved articles made up of papier mache and wood. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After relishing, leave the hotel to visit the popular Mughal Gardens – Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. Located on the shores of Dal Lake, these gardens were founded during the Mughal era and showcase the typical 'Mughal chahar bagh' concept of gardens. Spend some time adoring the beautiful flowerbeds, trees, carpets of grass and playful fountains. Next, proceed to the local Handicrafts Emporium cherishing lake view on your way. This emporium is popular for several types of hand-knitted items, such as pashmina shawls, carpets and traditional ornaments. In the later part of the day, visit the much-revered Shankaracharya Temple, also famed as the Jyesteshwara Temple. Devoted to Lord Shiva, the shrine dates back to 371 BC, and was visited by Adi Shankaracharya who is said to have placed a lingam here. The temple is situated on the namesake summit at an altitude of about 1000 feet overlooking the mesmerising city of Srinagar. After this religious jaunt, come back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Head towards Pahalgam – the 'Valley of Shepherds'. Situated at an elevation of 2130 m, Pahalgam is a captivating hill town in the Anantnag district. The town with its picturesque view of snow-clad mountains, coniferous trees and emerald green streams, is unquestionably among the best destinations in India. Pahalgam is the base camp for many treks like the annual Amarnath Yatra, Kolahoi Glacier and Lidder Watt. Upon your arrival, check-in at the hotel and freshen up for a sightseeing tour of the town. Spend quality time extolling the charm of nature as you walk along the Lidder River. Later, return to the hotel and get a good night's sleep.
Leave the hotel for exploring the town of Pahalgam.
